Delta Tau Delta chapter recovers from scandal

On Feb. 19, the Theta Tau chapter of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity at Moravian College was allowed to keep their charter following an investigation into their involvement in the alleged embezzlement of large sums of money by former president Jason Cote this past winter.

New organization aims to fight political apathy on campus

According to "The Princeton Review," Moravian College is listed as one of the most politically apathetic colleges in the United States.

Senior political science majors Sarah Naumes and Grace Puleo have taken steps this semester to remedy this embarrassing reputation by beginning a chapter of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) on campus.

Moravian announces staff, budget reductions

In recent weeks, Moravian College announced that it had eliminated current staff positions as part of an estimated $2 million budget reduction for the 2009-2010 fiscal year.

In addition to the elimination of six former staff positions, four staff positions were restructured from 12-month to 10-month contracts, and open faculty and staff positions at the college will not be filled.

Reel Leadership program has real impact on viewers

Moravian College's Reel Leadership program showcased the movie, "4 Luni, 3 Saptamâni Si 2 Zile," or "4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days" for their dinner-and-a-movie discussion. The movie talked about the main characters, Gabita and Otilia, who seek out an illegal abortion in Bucharest, Romania, in 1987.

Moravian College gets a lesson in "Growing up Naked"

From Feb. 19 to 22, the Moravian College Theatre Company performed "Growing Up Naked" in the Arena Theatre.

The play, a musical comedy originally written by Richard A. Barvie, follows eight young adolescents through puberty as they openly discuss their emotions, actions and physical changes (including the good, the bad, the ugly and the oddly hilarious) associated with early adolescence.

Local band DIVE breaks into music scene

Look out, Third Eye Blind, DIVE is on their way to climbing up the charts!

DIVE, a band stationed in Northern New Jersey, was formed in 2003 and has been getting noticed ever since by radio stations and various venues.

"Me and a bunch of friends� found the right group of guys to play Dive," explains vocalist Jon Sitar, when asked how the band formed.

People are spending less and saving more, while businesses are shrinking their staffs and trying to hold on to their profit and consumers.
